Upcoming Rail strikes - May 2024

The Associated Society of Locomotive and Engineers and Fireman (ASLEF)

has announced another series of strike action between Monday 6th and Saturday 11th May, 2024 whereby members of the train drivers union will take part in one day strike along with a six day overtime ban. What does this mean? On Wednesday 8th May, there will be no West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast, Cross Country or Chiltern services on this date. An overtime ban will be in place between 6 -11 May, therefore services maybe altered and are at risk of short notice disruption and cancellations. Transport for Wales is not affected by strike action and demand will be high for their services.

West Midlands Metro - from Monday 6 May until Thursday 9 May daytime metro services will operate to their usual timetable, there will be no evening services after 8pm between Wednesbury and Edgbaston Village. Services between Wolverhampton and Wednesbury are unaffected. Metro will be running full service on 10 -11 May. Please visit www.tfwm.org.uk/tramworks for the extent of these works until mid-May.
