Community Cohesion
breaking barrier project logo Breaking Barriers Project

2005-6 saw increased tension amongst many communities across the UK and rioting in some of our major cities.

With a small grant of £2K from Sandwell Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) we looked to tackle some of the misconceptions that exist between communities and to help foster better community relations within Sandwell and increased awareness and tolerance between our local communities.

Given our tiny budget the project was a great success - increasing awareness amongst our membership and bringing many groups and organisations into contact with us for the first time.

We continue to benefit today from the seeds this project laid down, with many organisations still in regular contact with us either through membership or partnership working.

Find out more about this project through our
end of project report.
